HCCF Executive Committee
Micah Phillips, Senior Vice President
Nevada State Bank
Vice-chair
With nearly 20 years in banking, Micah began his career working in a nontraditional banking environment for American Express. Eventually he entered traditional banking, leading the operational compliance program for a $50 billion bank holding company. In 2009, he relocated to Henderson, Nevada to lead the compliance management program for Nevada State Bank, the largest and oldest state chartered bank in Nevada. Right in the heart of the Great Recession, he led efforts to implement programs to address a slew of new and evolving regulations. Eventually, he took on responsibility for the product management team at the bank and currently operates as senior vice president and revenue manager, with responsibility for numerous product and other strategic initiatives that ensure the bank is poised to provide competitive banking solutions in an evolving marketplace.
Micah has also been an active participant in volunteering time with nonprofit organizations. This includes board service for multiple nonprofits serving causes ranging from substance abuse treatment, to programs meeting the social service needs of low-income communities, and organizations serving business and economic development interests. He also provides service through volunteer work in his church community.
Micah has an undergraduate degree in finance and a master’s degree in business administration. In his spare time he enjoys cycling and running. He and his wife, Kenzy, are also the proud parents of three great kids and they love all the Henderson community has to offer.
