Chamber Committees
The committees of the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI) play a vital role in the success of our organization.
Ambassador Committee
The Ambassador Committee is a primary asset of the SCCCI which assists acting as the Chamber’s Public Relations arm - promoting member commitment and retention through raising awareness of Chamber activities and benefits. This committee also keeps new Chamber members involved and informed to promote strong continuing membership, serves as a liaison between the Chamber staff and membership, operates the Shelby County “Welcome Wagon” program for new residents and businesses within the community, and helps attract new members through positive work throughout the county. Business Mentor Committee
The business leaders of Shelby County recognize how important educating the new business owners and future success stories of Shelby County is to the continued success of the business community and the County’s quality of life. Small business start-ups play a key role in our ability to create jobs in Shelby County. The Small Business Association reports that 96% of all start-ups come out of the gate with an average of 3 employees. These are new businesses passionate about the product or service they provide. Where they run into trouble is dealing with all the other aspects required to make a business successful. The Business Mentor Committee of the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and Industry is comprised of local, successful business owners and managers willing to contribute some of their time and expertise to invest in the future of the county. This committee donates to the growth of Shelby County by contributing ideas, best business practices, and counseling to these start-up businesses in the areas where they are weak. The members of this committee understand that a strong start-up business community leads to a prosperous business community overall.
Events Committee
Business networking opportunities and other opportunities to interact with local business leaders to build relationships is crucial to the success of our local business community. The Programs and Events Committee of the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and Industry exists to create these opportunities for our Chamber members. Additional benefits realized through this committee include increased visibility of our membership, fostering involvement with S.C.C.C.I. and members of our business community, and cultivating professional development and growth.
